Comments Thread For: Donaire Believes He Belongs in HOF Even Without Inoue

Nonito Donaire believes he's compiled a respectful resume through 45 career fights to earn his due spot in Canastota, New York. The soon-to-be 37-year-old Filipino fighter believes he's a Hall of Famer as of this minute, with or without a win against Naoya Inoue on Thursday.

He used to be a great fighter, so impressive, but he wasted his whole career with Arum

I agree. With an 18-4 record in title fights over several divisions, he's definitely a 1st ballot HOF'er.

Wasted? That's a little strong of a statement considering of all he's done and the fact that he's many times a millionaire. Arum made him a star and a lot of money.

Id agree with him. Winning or losing vs Monster shouldnt alter his HOF chances. Hes in already just a matter or when & who he may have to wait out to get in.

Nonito was a bad man at Flyweight, the 'Flash' took out Vic Darchinyan when Vic was a wrecking ball top 3 and still went on to become the unified the IBF-WBA-WBC #1. champion at Superfly.

Then you have the current IBF flyweight champ Moruti Mthalane, 11 years later in 2019 still on top despite getting stopped by Donaire over a decade ago. Nonito swept through the lighter-weights up to 122 when he faced the #1. jr. featherweight Toshiaki Nishioka and became lineal of the 122 division.

Yep, still going strong at 36 years coming down to Bantamweight from Featherweight, challenging the top 2 P4P Naoya Inoue. RECOGNIZE!

If Nonito somehow manages to beat Monster AND Nery his resume from 112-122 would be frightening!

He's already first ballot, no doubt! Done it clean and whilst being one of the most likeable gents in all of boxing.

I think he's HOF with or without Monster on his record. But if he were to somehow pull it off, there would be no denying first ballot status

                  118 best weight for him

He is a future hall of fame, im really surprised he can still make 118 at his age, but good for him because at 122 and above his power never carried
