he's been avoiding punches by doing the shoulder roll in plenty of his fights. he wasnt doing that before fighting floyd. yes, floyd didnt invent this move but canelo wasnt doing it before. he only started doing it after fighting floyd so yes, he prolly did take that from floyd.
Is Canelo MORE INTELLIGENT than any other Mayweather Opponent?

That's a great question. The answer is age, style, and experience (or lack thereof). Canelo was young and inexperienced enough to learn from his mistakes and improve his game. Guess who fails the driving test more often, people who recently learned to drive and are nervous or people who know how to drive? The answer may surprise you, but it actually the people who have more experience. Why, because they've developed bad habits that they can't shake off when they need to. A child can learn a new language much easier than an adult.
Canelo was in his early 20's when he fought Floyd, and thus wasn't set in his ways the way a 35 year old seasoned vet would be. His style wasn't yet set in stone. Also, it's much easier to pick up things from someone who's style is similar to yours but they're overall better. From the waist up, Mayweather and Canelo share many similarities. Therefore, Canelo doesn't have to rewire his brain to adopt Mayweather's moves. Look at the shoulder roll. Most don't have the reflexes or timing to pull it off. Canelo has enough of those tools to be able to utilize the roll against the ropes to counter or recover.
You bring up Lara for comparison's sake. Lara's been fighting the same way since he was born. In his 30's he can't be trained to change the arc on his left hand. And like I said previously, you can more easily adopt the moves from someone who fights similarly to you. Lara can't adopt Canelo's moves because they're too different. Lara's strengths lie from the waist down, while Canelo's lies from the waist up.
Canelo fighting Mayweather was a case of perfect timing. He was at the right age, the right level of experience, and fought someone who's style and abilities were similar enough to his own to be emulated.Comment

I'm mad? Did Canelo defensively dodge combinations from Trout? By ''Learn'' what is it exactly that Canelo learned? Fighting is dangerous and risky. Are we talking about mimics? Or the art of defensive slipping since Pep or Locche? Most of these trades are passed down in gyms. Wasn't Toney doing defensive awes before FLoyd?Just because Canelo learned from fights doesn't mean every fighter learns something from every fight. Just because other fighters didn't learn anything, doesn't mean Canelo didn't learn.
You are basically just mad that the people interviewed at Floyd's gym says Floyd made him a better fighter. Pathetic dude. Is this really something to be upset about?
So again, is Canelo more intelligent opponent from Floyd's resume? Which fighter from Floyd's opposition excelled after the loss? Or was Moretti correct to give Canelo 4 rounds?Comment

Toney, Locche, Pep, doing such things before Floyd. Canelo been doing defensive slips, rolls for a hot minute. Did you see Canelo vs Trout?he's been avoiding punches by doing the shoulder roll in plenty of his fights. he wasnt doing that before fighting floyd. yes, floyd didnt invent this move but canelo wasnt doing it before. he only started doing it after fighting floyd so yes, he prolly did take that from floyd.Comment

I think it depends on how you take a loss. Being shut down and outclassed for 12 straight rounds can be a hard pill to swallow for many. I think in Canelo's case it humbled him and as a result it seems he kicked up his training and dedication.
Also being a quick handed boxer himself I think it showed him what you can do with great speed and proper punch selection. Mayweather may not have the power but Canelo knew what it felt like to get stopped in his tracks everytime by a well timed shot.Comment

The only thing Canelo has learned from Gayweather is not to cherry pick and to take on risks. Unlike Gayweather who never had the balls to fight two weight classes up and challenge a one legged Martinez for the MW title.
Canelo also learned to be seen with beautiful women and not beating them up, unlike Gay beats up on women and who is always seen getting along better with Chocolate-Nostril guy and other big burly men.Comment

That doesn't make sense. Showtime didn't contest Moretti's scorecard. If Floyd did 12 straight rounds then he would've fought Canelo at 155lbs for Lineal Middleweight title, or with Cotto. You're saying Floyd can't runback ''12 straight rounds'' because of 3lbs from 152 to 155?Comment

You're changing the focus of your own thread to hate on Mayweather. Then again, maybe that's what you were going for all along. That doesn't make sense. Showtime didn't contest Moretti's scorecard. All I know about Floyd victims or most of them is that after losing to Floyd they didn't go on to do much. Not sure what that says but maybe they were overated in first place.
But Pac has continued to do well. Nelo has. And im sure others did also but im too lazy to think right now.Comment

Alvarez has an excellent boxing brain.
His progression of improvements from fight to fight is what impresses me most.
1st fighter to be mentioned by both Floyd & Bernard as being inspired by Mayweather styleComment
