  • Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz Looking To Feel Light on His Feet in Joshua Rematch

IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz has been looking pretty slim in several social media photos posted over the course of the last few weeks. Ruiz is training hard for his highly anticipated rematch with former champion Anthony Joshua. Back on June 1, Ruiz pulled of a massive upset when he dropped Joshua four times to secure a seventh round stoppage at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Light on your feet could mean heavy on your ass

I'm just saying, sometimes if it's not broke don't fix it. I would have focus more on angels, power and accumulation of punches more so than losing weight and being light on my feet. Joshua is strong and big once you loose your advantage that just may be your a_s. I can here him at the press conference now; I lost a bit to much weight trying to be faster and I wasn't as strong. I'll be BACK!

As with most fattys, this talk of "weight coming off" is what they say before every fight. I wouldnt read too much into it.

I have never heard a trainer say "our fighter is heavily obese, and getting fatter. Please buy tickets to his fight."

Haha. I for one would be intrigued. Solid marketing.

Anthony Joshua is in BIG trouble. Andy Ruiz would never give up his 'Carnitas' if he were not 100% committed to shattering your jaw! Do you want it this bad A.J?

Andy knows that Joshua's plan will be to run like a bitch.

He's just getting himself ready to hunt AJ down and cut off the ring.

Yeah, he look pretty chubby in his DAZN interview this past weekend. He might be a couple of pounds lighter, but its not going to be much. He says that 8lbs lost is his magic number apparently.

Joshua and Ruiz should both keep the sames weights.

Joshua didn't lose the fight because he was too heavy and Ruiz's weight didn't slow him down any in the first fight.

Joshua has always been terrible against shorter fighters. He should fix that and forget about losing weight. He needs his power to keep people away from his weak chin.

Ruiz should just walk Joshua down and get in close
