Do you mean Sat night in the U S? Or Saturday in Japan?
Lol they would never move this for U S tv. Over 20k will be there live plus the whole country watching on tv. They would care less of any US audience. If you meant Sat night in Japan please enlighten us on what happens there on Saturdays that make you think it would be prime time?
Right on , I will still be watching. But Inoue is a monster thought he deserved the bigger audience that would have came with a primetime SAT time slot.
It'd have to be JST or Phillipines Standard Time whichever day it came on I guess, the two fighters are bona fide superstars in their respective countries and that's something like a combined 230 million people... they'll get viewing figures that would put us to shame in the UK or US I'm guessing.
As to why Thursday I ain't sure, I think Friday fights from Japan are fairly common but I don't recall many on Thursday so I was curious enough to check and it's just speculation but they do seem to be pushing towards a 4 day working week so maybe that's something to do with it - or hell, maybe they just do things different in the Land of the Rising Sun and just figure the day won't make much difference to viewership...
Either way, like you say, it's a must see... luckily it'll fall around lunchtime here and I should be able to catch it without too many problems.
