I've never seen a more coddled fighter getting called a crusher in my 45 years of watching boxing. He fought literal bums for most of his career. He's 37 years old with 42 career fights and only about 6 or 7 of them against legit opponents. He has no one to blame but himself. And several years ago his backers could say that people were ducking him and be believable, but that has shown to be a total fiction. He's had about 5 years in the spotlight now and regularly chosen joke fights when real challenges were begging for a chance to fight him. Only reason he took the Deryvanchenko fight is because D had only 13 fights. Stepped up vs Jacobs and won a close decision many think he lost, never gave Jacobs a rematch. He's got Andrade, Charlo, and other good fighters begging for a chance to fight him and he's going back to fighting the same types of bar room slobs he made a name KOing.

"Anyone from 154 to 168!" And yet he never once left 160. He's a fraud, he's a joke. And what's a shame is that he is very skilled and has a fun style to watch, but he was handled to make money, he challenges himself the last 10 years and he'd be 34-7-1 instead of 40-1-1. But I guess he maximized his money, for that no one can blame him.
i think the only reason he took on chenko was because canelo told him to jump..." go get a belt"....and he chose the guy that lost to jacobs and was already somewhat of a known entity....charlo probably wasnt realistic but andrade would have been.....but they dont have a real baromter on andrade the way they thought they did with chenko

he only took that fight because canelo told him too...otherwise he would have probably taken on a lesser opponent

A fight where he was a slight underdog i think.

His name lately has been dragged trough the mud now that he is older.

But you see the difference in Kov and GGG. GGG who at 36 fought a prime Canelo and arguably beat him. Will a 36 year old Canelo beat a prime Canelo that GGG fought?

Abel Sanchez who has a strained relationship with GGG even said it before the Canelo vs Kovalev fight in his prediction where he picked Canelo by KO.

"Kovalev cant punch like GGG, i've had them both. Kovalev is no where near the puncher GGG is. GGG is also a better boxer than Kovalev. Yes GGG controlled the fight with a jab in the last fight, but GGG is a lot not only tricker GGG is a lot smarter, GGG has a better jab. Kovalev maybe longer but its gonna be a slower jab and if Canelo wa sable to work off GGG's jab hes gonna be aable to work off Kovalevs jab easier."
Good post. Haters gonna hate. Most of them never been in the ring (or even had a bloody nose :-)
