Post fight it came out GGG was fighting sick. Looks obvious considering how winded he looked.

Yeah may be some truth to that too...I like Banks but I hope he isn't getting GGG away from what made him great...workrate/stamina/punch resistance/power/skills...if he impacts his stamina with the training that isn't good for GGG....that stamina is a big part of what made GGG special imo

I had GGG by 1 point. I need to watch Canelo vs Kovalev again too, as I had it 7-3 Canelo. I felt Canelo landing all of the best shots, and whilst Kovalev was active with his jab, I saw 95% of them caught by Canelo on the gloves. Whilst I hear people argue that on the gloves can still hurt, they aren't scoring shots to me. I'll watch again though and see if more landed than I initially thought.

Golovkin is actual history, as it looks right now...

... OK... I liked him a lot... but the guy is out of any loop right now...

I had it 6-6 live with the knockdown being the difference. I haven't rewatched it yet but a fight like this that I thought one guy clearly won but when I watched again had the other guy was Pac-Marquez 3. Live I thought Marquez clearly won the fight but when I rewatched by myself without any noise around me, I had Pac winning like 115-113...

Sometimes the 2nd time around it's easier to be objective and not see things for a guy you're rooting for or just not having other people around helps also to pay attention.

GGG totally won. He also came out without a scratch. And we all know what he looks like when punches actually land on his face.

LOL, here we go again....The fight wasn't close. Sergey won it hands down. It was a robbery, plain and simple. Put it this way. I also felt that canelo beat GGG clean in the 2nd fight, and the sergey fight was nowhere near competitive as that fight. GGG looked weak and fought cautious, never showed any ring generalship, was getting backed up, outworked and outboxed. GGG almost got KO'ed in the 5th round, but was saved by the ref. I feel sorry for sergey as he deserved that win and a belt for his effort.

Watching it live I gave it to Derevyanchenko but a Golovkin score is not out of range.

I didn't score Canelo-Kov but felt Kov was winning on activity basically, but Canelo's shots were stronger when he did land...and yes on the gloves or arms are not scoring shots...when I have some time I'll probably watch that one again and actually score it as well.

Yeah I'm more worried about his punch resistance right now than anything else...he seems to be aging decently well in other areas, but if he can't take good shots well anymore he may really want to think about hanging em up.

Thanks man...yeah I never really got into all those Pac-Marquez fights...those would be interesting to go back and watch some time too.

Lol...I know you are a Canelo guy so in a way I appreciate you trying to call it like you see it here.

Yeah I was just a bit surprised that GGG was more active than I thought, and SD not quite as active as I remembered...and then besides round 10 I felt like most of the heavy work was being done by GGG in the fight...it was a good fight though...they both have high workrates so they could probably make most fights entertaining regardless of opponent, and when matched up together they seem to bring a lot of action.

My friend...all you score in fights are the punches...the other stuff is just silly to actively score...I do agree that this fight vs SD was more competitive round in and round out than GGG's 2 fights with Canelo...but I think that is a result of SD's workrate being really high, just like GGG's is...Canelo's problem in both fights vs GGG imo is he allowed himself to be outworked almost every round because GGG's workrate is considerably better.

Canelo is great when he throws...but in general fights a bit too sparingly to really clearly take a lot of rounds, especially when he is getting touched up with the jab...GGG was scoring with that all night in both fights...I actually just watched fight 2 again last night as well and would agree that SD did quite a bit better than Canelo did in that fight.

Round by round I don't think the scores were much different though...I've always scored fights 1 and 2 for GGG 8-4 almost every time I've watched them...I think I've found 5 rounds for Canelo a couple times in the second fight...I don't think I can find one clear round for him in either fight where I come away saying - OK, that is a clear Canelo round...a lot of that is just due to GGG's workrate relative to Canelo's...he is just always scoring while Nelo fights more in spurts.

I think GGG outlanded Canelo in like 80% of the rounds they fought...I can't think of one round where Canelo outworked GGG and landed the best shot or shots of the round, which would make a round like that a clear one for Canelo...if anyone wants to point one out I am all ears.

So yeah imo Sergey was more competitive throughout...but his problem was while his workrate was comparable or even a bit better than GGG's in some rounds, he was often times getting hit with the cleaner and harder shots from what I just saw...so besides round 5 (which again was a good body shot that GGG didn't like, and GGG was a bit fortunate that Harvey Dock stepped in lol, but GGG wasn't overly hurt in that occasion, certainly not about to be stopped, come on man lol) and round 10, SD struggled imo to take clear rounds.

GGG only had a few clear rounds himself...but SD got a bit unlucky that he got KD, and then also that GGG opened that big cut up in round 2, and knowing about that cut I think you have to give GGG round 2 since he did the most damage...going down 0-2, he basically fought even over the next 10 rounds, and maybe a bit better than even...but the hole he dug was I think a bit much to find a victory for him, from my view last night.
