In theory if this would have bothered DLH or Canelo, meaning they know they took the “loyalty” part (regarding sticking to one trainer) Since that was what the whole article was about then I don’t see Coppinger or the Athletic welcomed at GBP events. Would the Kovalev fight reporting have been worth it if Canelo got like 9 more fights to cover?

The thing with journalism is there isn’t no real audio, then Coppinger could say “that’s how it was interpreted to me,” knowing fully well as most lost in translation isn’t 100% accurate. I even released the transcript on Boxing where NSB haters and even Pugmire affiliate fan followers were saying the interpreter did the translation wrong. Lol. The most obvious lies. It’s rather sad.

And again, Canelo got more fights. Why would the Athletic jeopardize coverage for future fights? Were they trying to pull a 49-0 Berto type of derail with IV Gate? What purpose would this have served? To distract Canelo from the fight or Oscar? Oscar isn’t in the ring fighting Kovalev
