Righto - thanks for the catch.

I disagree that his jab was pathetic. Some of them were good jabs. Others were feeling out jabs. Most fighters threw both.
And yes, he did fight small, especially in the beginning. I chalked that up to protecting his midsection.

Don't think he came to lose. He boxed well and was ahead on my card. His activity level did drop. In the postfight interview, Kov blamed the short turnaround from Yarde fight, which can be true.. but at the same time, he gassed early in his last 4-5 fights too.

I'm not screaming "Fixed" BUT people proclaiming Kovalev was winning when he was jabbing Gloves. If he was landing all those jabs then Canelo should've had way more Damage to the face. He was mostly jabbing at Gloves!

If you knew anything about boxing. You’d know the moment Kovalev would have tried to open up and land sometime heavy and big. Canelo would have countered that slow heavy punch with something very nasty and would have highlighted his ass sooner.

Kovalev was super wary of those nasty counters that’s why all he was willing to throw were them jabs followed by a very occasional right.

Don’t think he threw the fight but I don’t think he cared too much. On the copp podcast they said he didnt get paid anything for his first 17 fights so all he could think about was the money.

I've only seen the fight live but this is what I saw. But this is typical boxing fan schtick, most dont pay attention to what's landing, they score via I guess what Kellerman calls the "story of the fight". And when you're ignoring the punches landing you can basically write your own story.
