No one is mad at Hopkins, we've known there is a rift between Canelo and GBP. That CBS article does not state that Canelo has confirmed the quotes in The Athletic.

I think the only reason to work this out is for Ryan..Oscar needs the kid for the future of golden boy and Ryan is all up the reynosos azz at the moment and thinks he’s related to Canelo. So if Canelo ain’t cool with Oscar, Ryan ends up leaving the first chance he gets. Beyond that I’m willing to bet Oscar would tell Canelo to go fk himself and remind him he’s under contract.
