It doesn't matter about style either as long as your not a total can he cant win decisively. He did good to KO Kov cause it would have been another fight that would have been controversial. And Kov literally was out boxing him with just a pitty patty jab fighting scared lol. He felt Canelos power and fought that way i dont think this fight was fixed.
Why cant Canelo ever pull away on the score cards?

The same reason you dont generally see top fighters stop each other. It’s the quality of fighters. Fight enough top guys and its bound to be close. The guy is 29, still learning, and has tons of fights on film for people to analyze and has fought almost every style you can think of. I like to crack my canelo jokes here and there but I’m not mad at him having close fights considering it’s against men that are close to being toss up fights to begin with. He’s fighting elite fighters and it’s why he’s the cash cow. Gets in the ring with these fighters that legitimately have what it takes to beat him. -
Because he’s not that good.
In boxing, there’s usually one dominant force that outshines everyone else.
Look at the history of heavyweights. Outside of the 1970s and 1990s, there’s one dominant champion for an extended period of time.
Pound for pound lists are generally dominated by one, maybe two fighters for a long stretch.
Canelo just isn’t on that level. That’s why he’s always in close fights. Austin Trout isn’t that good, Erislandy Lara isn’t that good, GGG isn’t that good, Danny Jacobs isn’t that good and Sergey Kovalev isn’t that good. Neither is Canelo because he basically fought dead even fights with all of them.
A great fighter would outpace these guys and win comfortably. Canelo isn’t that.
They’re all good fighters but none of them are amazing.
The one really great fighter Alvarez fought won every round against him. If he ever faces someone like that again, he’ll lose every round again. I’m just not sure he’ll fave a guy on that level ever again.Comment

He was one of the most skilled boxers ever
6 ft 1 175+ pound Kov punched conservatively at Alvarez
The 5 ft 8 150 pound Mayweather hit Alvarez with more commitmentComment

The three judges who had it scored 96-94 x2 and 95-95 don’t know how to score a fight either apparently. Good thing they have you to tell them how wrong they are.

I had it 6-4 Kov.
Good on Alvarez for finishing the fight the way he did. No one can say anything about judgesComment

He doesn't throw enough and lets himself be outworked, and it's just a thing that's been part of his career since he hit world class. It is what it is. Whether it's his stamina or or just a patience he prefers or some mix of both, I don't know. He trusts his ability to counter and win rounds with harder shots.Comment
