    Mosley's getting too much credit

Most of you know I am one of the biggest Mosley fan's here. But, I'm gonna be objective about all this Mosley - Vargas ****. He looked great popping the jab, and mixing in the uppercuts and the looping right but this Vargas is ****ing SHOT to pieces.

Emmanuel Steward was commenting on how slow Vargas was...those words are golden. Vargas' footspeed is soooooo ****ing slow. He has good footwork, he had ok upperbody movement but his footspeed was slow as hell. He wasn't able to close the gap on Mosley which has always been his downfall. (Winky and Forrest were able to shoot the gap easy after they threw the jab). And as always Mosley can sometimes pull straight back or he just doesn't move his head because of his granite chin.

Mosley - Mayweather will be a Mayweather 8 rounds to 4 semi-domination. Mosley - Hatton is a semi-pick'em but I think Hatton can come on strong in the championship rounds provided he doesn't swell and I'm not sure about Cotto.

    So yeah....discusssss.

Yeah Vargas is pretty washed up, but we can definently say Mosley isn't washed up. I don't think he can beat Floyd though, unless somehow he hurt Floyd. Mosley throws wild a lot and Floyd will catch him, and at 147 I don't know who would be faster.

The point of the Mosley-Vargas fight was, in many eyes it was Washed-up-fighter #1 vs. Washed-up-fighter #2. Quite a few of the fans I talked to were just waiting to see, before the first fight, how horrible Mosley and Vargas looked. How far they had fallen. Against eachother, though, they put on a good fight- so when the fight was stopped due to swelling, and another announced, people were more interested the second time around. Who would make a mini-ressurection of their career? The answer was Mosley- and the reason he is getting so much credit is- he won in a fashion people did not expect. Every boxing expert on boxingscene, and most other websites, were still mixed in their predictions..but most had Mosley by unanimous desicion. To lay vargas on his back and win the way he did, though, shocked fans enough that they have begun equating Mosley with the fighter of old. Fighter of the year, 'Sugar Shane'. Is he still that man?

What I saw from Mosley was that his speed has not abandoned him and he still has strength- so he can compete. Maybe he once was a '10' and now he's only an '8'...but an 8 is still pretty good, right? I think people are just happy to have him back, another face in the welterweight division, and are hailing him as returning to his old form as a testament to how he preformed. Just a bit of emotional excitement towards Shane's good job against Vargas I believe.
