Also, what about the 190 limit? I don’t even know if it’s true but can’t believe anything that Canelo and his camp say since they have been lying since day one.
If the man couldn’t even make his own weight limit come fight day and had to lose a little weight just for that it tells you everything you need to know. He long should have moved up. The rehydration clause had squat to do with him losing. 10 pounds of water and liquids is extremely more than plenty to rehydrate until morning weigh in and then all freaking day to continue packing on the pounds up to the point where it’s feasible to stop so your belly isn’t full come fight time. You can literally hydrate yourself within 2-3 hours and rest.

If he truly believes that, he is setting himself up for a failure. You can't fix stamina issues at 36 when you fight A-level fighters, who are young, fresh and in their prime.

Kovalev use to be one of the most feared pressure fighters. At this age he fights defensive and stalls and hopes to catch a break.

Ward took his soul, he hasn’t been the same since. He fought like a *****, running away from a guy moving up 2 weight classes 😂

              Time for retirement

                Excuses Excuses

Kovalev makes a lot of excuses. Perhaps he never was who we thought he was. To be honest, I never thought he was much. Before he fought Ward, who had he really fought? He fought Pascal, who isn't the best boxer. And he fought Hopkins, who is as big a con as they come. He has blamed at least two trainers for his failures, and being rushed into this Canelo fight. Perhaps, he should blame himself. P.S. A fighter won't be dominant long, if all he uses is his jab. He rarely used power punches against Canelo, which was a big mistake. Maybe he should have thrown more of them. Perhaps the outcome would have been different.

Was Canelos shell defence so hard to breach? I think most of Kov's jabs and power punches landed on the arms and gloves of Canelo. I was crying out to see Kov do a few uppercuts through the defence, feint a couple then wait. then 20 seconds later bam! Mix it up.

It was a pretty lame performance by Kovalev.

This is a serious question though, has a championship fight ever been thrown this century?

How is this too soon. Back in the day champions fought 5,6,7 times a year. What is so different now? more damage? tougher training routines, get hit more?

What would Robinson or Greb make of Gary Russell fighting 5 times in 5 years?

Anybody believes Canelo would step up to 175, if E. Alvarez beat Kovalev in rematch?
