    What was kovalevs plan

what was kovalevs plan. Arm punches and survive for 12. He seemed so afraid of gassing and would not commit to his shots

Did they think they were winning?

There was no urgency and after all of that he still looked lethargic and tired in the 11th

the judges had it close, if he was a bit more aggressive early he could have been more conservative later on but he tried to rally in rounds 8-10, it got him gassed, I had him winning rounds 3,4,8,9,10. I didn't like those rounds were he was throwing soft jabs just to score points

I thought kovalevs best rds were 8 and 9 but i think that he threw better punches in those rds because canelo was starting to get more aggressive.

Win off the jab. Which isn't a bad plan but he needed to put something behind those jabs. What's funny is that even though it seemed he wasn't putting much power behind his shots, he still look tired around round 9. I was yelling at the tv "how the heck are you tired bro!"

His plan was to keep the fight at a distance. The problem was that didn't guarantee him rounds in the bank. Combine that with Canelo's IQ and sharp punches, and he looked like he was just trying to survive and not win.

Mcgirt has had him on the pitter patter punching every fight since joining up.

Don't hit him too hard, just keep tapping with the jabs, try to make it convincing by dragging it to the later rounds where you'll take a couple of real shots and then lay down, try to look dazed as you know the ref will call it off immediately and tend to you.

I actually thought he would try to fight canelo the same way he fought eleider in the rematch moving and jabbing.

He did the jabbing part but did not commit himself.
