Canelo fight proves weight don’t matter

Heard so many people talking about Canelo not being able to hurt kovalev because he’s smaller. Does that very real knockout prove that weight doesn’t matter as much as people think?

I agree weight differences are over rated but there is a reason he picked Kovalev over any other light heavyweight. Curious to see where he goes now.

Wrong. I can probably beat George Foreman today but that doesn't mean I wouldn't get my ass kicked by Anthony Joshua. You can make your argument about size when Canelo fights Beterbiev or Bivol and ko's them with ease

Canelo is one of the best pressure fighters in the sport with good defense.
Kov didnt try to impose his power. He relied so much on the jab to win a UD.
          Canelo had other plans.

Even a 70 year old Foreman would put in you in a body stretcher, don't fool yourself.

Lets just wait to see if he could stand with the other top boys at 175. Im not saying Kovalev was shot and ive given Canelo alot of props for taking this fight but there is a difference between a prime 175 and the current Kovalev. We could even say the same at 168. Fielding doesnt represent the best 168 has to offer. Give Canelo a prime elite fighter at those weights and you will see weight making a difference.

to a certain degree, youre right, just would of been better if there were no rehydration clauses. also, match making. lets see an all mexican matchup, canelo ruiz if ruiz wins the rematch

I've heard rumours of a 5lb rehydration clause don't know if this is true but if it is that could surely have a major impact on the way Kovalev performed, can anyone confirm if that was the case?
