hes a fraud as many have been saying for years. he better not call out kovalev now or that makes him look weak af - canelo had the courage to go up whereas g has hidden himself at mw. i along with many other im sure have been eagerly awaiting the day that ggg retires so we can stop talking about him every second thread and so his bandwagon boxing fans can finally fuk off out of here

I agree. GGG has no legacy. One division man.

Does a fighter have to go up and down in the divisions to be a good fighter?

If he refuses to fight the best of his division then the answer is yes.

                He wants to fight Canelo.
Most people think he's the best in the division.

he has to do something to prove he is a good fighter

it was all of that 154-168 talk man, people feel that he underachieved

Canelo is embarrassing him... those guys are cut from a completely different cloth

Why is it awkward? Most fighters ain't moving up past the age of 30 and fighting top dudes from higher divisions. What Golovkin's doing - fighting a mixture of top 10 dudes with the occasional nobody - is the norm, not the exception. What Canelo's doing is exceptional, but then his circumstances are also exceptional.

Would I like to see Golovkin move up at 37 or 38 and face a top SMW or LHW (and probably take a beatdown)... ummm. No not particularly. Sergei Derevyanchenko was as much as he could handle. Would you honestly be that interested in such a fight beyond any pleasure you might gain from being able to declare that it's proof he wasn't that good in the first place and being able to gloat over his fans?

Golovkin's time for that kinda risk is probably past, man, and for one reason or another things just never came together for him - if you honestly think this shit is really about fighters' personal courage you could say he never dared to be bold. The closest thing we got is the knowledge that at 35 years old the vast majority reckon he deserved a W over the guy folk are now touting as FOTD and a living legend. Just makes you wonder what he could have accomplished had circumstances been different.
