There is also the fact that it should have either been 96-94 or 97-93. That 97-94, did he give a 10-10 round?

Kovalev was probably ahead, but they weren't dominant rounds, they were Canelo wasn't doing anything so Kovalev barely doing something was winning rounds rounds.

I don't understand why go with a gunshy McGirt who is coming off having Dadashev die on him. Of course he is going to train Kovalev to be the most risk adverse fighter he can.

Hes not going to advocate for him to go in and mix it up and use his power after he just had a fighter die on him.

McGirt had a bad game plan. It was "winning" rounds just because Canelo was doing nothing. It ended up gassing him out and getting him knocked out.

The reason it won rounds is because it clearly wasn't Canleo's game plan being implemented it was Kovalevs. Even if its not being implemented particularly well, it was controlling the pace and distance of the fight.

It was a bad game plan, it sort of worked, but it did nothing to drain Canelos tank, and just created a situation where you had to hope Kovalev had the stamina to do it all night, which he didnt.

Having the older bigger fighter outwork the smaller younger fighter was a bad idea.

I had it 6-4 to Kov going in to the last 2. Canelo was on the charge and Kov looking very tired but he was winning that fight.

Kovalev was clearly ahead. Not that it matters now. Everything about this fight was always going to favor Canelo. Kovalev is clearly not the same guy. He knows it himself. He wont even try to open up. He gets stopped the first.big punch he takes. Like Ward said, he is Kovalev. He is not the Krusher
