Comments Thread For: Canelo: Must Be Very Careful Of Punches At New Weight

LAS VEGAS Canelo Alvarez smiled and playfully felt his face Tuesday. A reporter had just commended Alvarez's ever-reliable chin as one of the best assets he has displayed throughout his storied career. Alvarez clearly appreciated the compliment, but he also acknowledged that he'll have to be even more mindful of his opponent's power now that he has moved up two weight classes to challenge Sergey Kovalev.

I give props for Canelo taking this fight...shop worn or not, Kovalev is still a very formidable challenger and is two divisions up...interested to see how Canelo deals with those first jabs that land in round 1...it is easier for Nelo to take these types of fights, as he knows if he goes 12 he will probably get the W, but this is still a great fight for fans I think.

As the fight approaches, I can't really see Nelo stopping Kovalev...I think he can make it competitive, I think he could get stopped, and I think Kov could outbox him for an 8-4, 9-3 decision that ends up being a draw or SD win for Canelo...here's to all of us on here keeping it real with what we see tonight, and not co-signing a decision just because the judges say so, with our guy winning.

I say 33% Kovalev stoppage; 33% Kovalev clear W that is a SD for Canelo; 33% close fight that is a UD or SD for Canelo.

Such an intriguing fight. Canelo has to get past Kovalev's jab. I see Kov winning the 1st half of the fight then fade, but Canelo tends to fade to and with the added weight he might fade quicker. Cant wait

I want to see the Spoiled Pampered Canelo Alvarez Knocked Out Cold !!! Canelo in reality should have 4 losses not 1. Canelo should have 2 losses against GGG and 1 loss against Erislandy Lara. Canelo ALWAYS has to have some kind of Advantage over his opponent. There is a rehydration clause in the contract that Sergey Kovalev cannot weigh over 185 pounds. On Saturday Morning. Amazing that the PED Cheater has to fight in Las Vegas, Canelo has to have Corrupt Judges and of course have his PEDS. Hopefully Canelo and his Promotional Team get Humbled by a Sergey Kovalev Victory. We’ll see.
