Why ppl say Kovalev is washed when both of his Ward losses were controversial?

did you watch the fight? Yarde got "KO'd" from a weak jab lol, it was clearly due to the overly muscled Yarde being completely gassed.

Right. He looked on his way out at one point vs Yarde. Kudos for him sticking it out of course. The KO he got was late. Yes it was from a counter jab, but I think that tells to how physically exhausted Yarde was, and less to how powerful Kovalev is. We use “washed” up relative to someone’s prime. It’s not really a fair term, but the better someone once was the the more we notice and jump on someone when they decline. No fighter can improve as fast as they slip.

With the modern training techniques and (healthy) supplements, that washed up age should be adjusted.

Manny, GGG and Kovalev are good examples and I'm sure there will be more to come

                  thats weird to me.

both the ward losses were marred by controversy. and he avenged his KO loss to alvarez.

how exactly is he washed up??
1st Ward fight was Kovalev UD
2nd Ward fight was Ward TKO

                  No controversy

The reason people say Kovalev is washed up is the Alvarez KO and Yarde almost TKOing Kovalev as well.

In a span of like 6 fights he went from KRUSHER to chinny and capable of being hurt/stopped. The guy can still box great and has a tremendous jab/right hand

This is a great fight we're getting on Saturday

                    Hah stop it.

                    Manny lost to Jeff Horn

                    GGG lost to Canelo

Kovalev to Eleider and Ward and possibly Canelo

Once you hit 35 in boxing your career is basically fight to fight.

Your body's power, stamina, and punch resistance diminish with each passing day.

None of Manny, Kovalev, or GGG fought a killer in their prime although GGG could arguably get credit for Canelo (but he either split that 1-1 or 0-1-1) and Canelo was smaller and moving up.

Yes he did but he also done the hardest thing in boxing by rematching the guy that just knocked you the f out and he won in style.
                      Kov is a bad man.
                      No doubt.
