McGirt says that one of the other corner men appealed to him to throw in the towel during the punishment that Yarde was administering to Kovalev in round 8 but McGirt made the decision to give him one more round after Kovalev told him during the rest period that Yarde was tired and he's "got him now"!

With all the hype around Saturday's fight, people forget that Yarde is a relatively unproven fighter and was a big underdog vs kovalev.
Still, he was a punch or two away from stopping Kovalev and sending him into retirement.
So that says either Yarde is a better fighter than people give him credit for or Kovalev is a shot fighter with one foot out the door.
