They’re not reaching because they quoted Canelo Alvarez saying Oscar De La Hoya can’t be trusted.
15 seconds of them acknowledging each other in a 35 minute video doesn’t undo everything Alvarez said in that story.
The Athletic story is about Oscar supposedly offending the Reynoso’s as trainers, hence “loyalty” when talking about Ryan Garcia. So why would the Reynosos clap Oscar after his speech on the podium? Lol
And where is the quote about Canelo saying “Oscar can’t be Trusted?” Lol. Maybe you haven’t noticed the vast amount of Canelo pressers, Oscar and him are usually stiff quiet.
Has anyone heard the audio that validates the quotes in the Athletic article? Has anyone that cited them as a source even requested it?
Canelo has not repeated or confirmed them in public, he's only repeated what he's been saying since last month, it's a working relationship.
Standards are really low for journalists in boxing. Any journalists reading this comment, do your job, investigate, research and request the audio from Coppinger before citing his story as a source.
why would any poster be defensive over these 2's matters??? how can anyone get to that level to care about stuff like this and try to defend something they know nothing about?
Coppinger hasn’t had to release the audio because Canelo Alvarez hasn’t denied he said it.
If Alvarez denies he said it, Coppinger will have to release the audio. It’ll never happen because Alvarez said it.
