Who should Ray Austin fight next?

This guy really impressed me with his ability and will to win against Sultan, someone who I considered (and still consider) a more talented fighter. Where does he go from here?

Calvin Brock or Jameel Mccline maybe? Davarl Williamson might work. I dont know about a title shot yet.

I really think Austin uses his reach and size well. His reach is extremely long. He tends to get very sloppy though. I dont see why he cant fix that up a bit. He can take a punch, but he keeps his arms down too much when hes inside. I like how he lets go when he needs to though.

        Ray Austin impressed you? Really?

His pawing jab and horrible footwork did nothing for me personally.

I agree. It just shows how overrated Sultan really was

              Dont really care that much.
I would like to see him rematch Sultan, so at least one of them will dissapear from the HW picture.

I honestly wasn't impressed by either fighter in this bout.

Ray Austin was the sloppiest heavyweight I've seen in a long time. He honestly looked like someone making his fighting debut. He constantly fell in with his punches against a shorter man, his jab is horrid and his footwork is almost non-existent.
Sultan Ibragimov missed so many opportunities to end this fight. There were so many times when Austin's chin was just hanging out there begging to be tagged and it didn't happen. The few times he had Austin stunned he didn't follow through. The one KD he scored was as much due to Austin's balance and feet being so far apart as it was due to the punch that landed. It cracked me up the way the commentators were making out like he really hurt Austin.

In my opinion, either of these fighters would have been killed by Little Klit had they won a title shot.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts throughout the fight. Austin is destined to fight Valuev though.

The knockdown did not have Austin seriously hurt (thought he was certainly hurt, that was not just an off balance flash knockdown, just look at the way he fell, he was barely able to catch himself) by that knockdown, but Sultan did rock him several times throughout the fight. The guy is a big, lanky, durable heavyweight. He doesn't look great but he gets the job done, has a good pairs of eyes on him, and is not a bad counterpuncher. I don't think he has much of a career ahead of him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him do pretty well against a Rahman or Calvin Brock.
