Kovalev is a champion and instead of fighting the other champions in his division he's fighting a damn middleweight.

No credit for beating someone 2 divisions smaller than you

    Why not fight Bivol instead?

Because Bivol isn't paying him 12 million dollars and if anything, Canelo has cherry picked Kovalev. It wasn't Kov that called out Canelo, it was the other way around.

Canelo can't ccherrypick a champion 2 divisions bigger than him. Kovalev is the one cherrypicking, fighting a little guy.

What happened? I though the eastern euros cared about legacy? Why can't kovalev fight someone his own size like Bivol?

I like your thread. Totally changed the perspective 180 compared to what every "boxing expert" in here says. Kovalev going down tho.

Kovalev is the best at lightheavy and light years better than the other Euros in the division, but Canelo's skills will be too much for Mr. Kovalev. Body, body, body.

                Canelo KO Kovalev.

Why is Canelo the favorite then? Kovalev has always been willing to unify, came pretty close to undisputed at one point, and has verbally expressed his desire to unify after this fight as well.

Canelo challenged him, and as prize fighting would dictate, you take the bigger money while you can.

Nothing wrong here with Kovalev's decision. This is a real fight in which I don't expect either fighter to dominate the other.
