Does anybody else find Gennady Golovkin's style to be repulsive and gross?

You make some good points but where you really crap the bed is the parts a little before and a little after the bold part. If you look at any elite boxers record when they fight other elite boxers they generally don't do it by knock out. Elite boxers are really hard to knock out. It isn't hard to see if you actually take the time to look. Canelo Alvarez has a resume a lot of people think is amazing for someone his age right. Which elite level fighter did he stop? GGG...No. Erislandy Lara....No. Miguel Cotto....No. Danny Jacobs.....No. Austin Trout....No. Even Shane Mosley went the distance with him.

Also, its kind of insane not to think age doesn't factor into it and its not just because of wear and tear. GGG has been doing things a certain way for a long time. He's been able to get away with it because he's an excellent fighter who was head and shoulders the best guy in a mediocre division. Its hard for someone to change the way they have been doing things when they have been doing things that way for so long with resounding success. Whether GGG is able to bounce and prove he's still elite or if he's just going to continue his inexorable slide down the rankings depends entirely upon his ability to make the needed adjustments.

you have to understand part of the the problem with golovkin is "perception"....i already know what you guys are going to say "it shouldnt matter blah blah blah".....but reality is HBO built him up big time...and the fans of his went on message boards and called all types of guys "scared" and "chicken"...all while touting him some ATG that beats any ATG.....that stuff happened...i know what you guys will say but im sorry...it matters and its annoying to some boxing fans...especially when the same group of fans will tear down fighters who have accomplished more.......it happens...its here...its on the internet and real life....people built golovkin up to be this indestructible force that was going to plow through everyone.....unrealistic? no doubt....but it happened.....and then people got called out when he stopped knocking guys that were higher level....and they dont like to hear it

i know some people dont know this...but its not an actual crime to not like golovkin.....hes ok....i dont hate the guy..i have some level of respect....but it has alot to do with the way he was branded...and the way his fans talked about him....

there are some valid points here in this thread about him....but golovkin is human and he is who he is

I 100% agree on that but it also goes both ways. You get people who get hard whenever they hear about GGG and people who just loathe him deep down in their soul. Most people are somewhere in between. Most of those people don't post in these forums lol

i hear you...but i think most people generally start out wanting to love fighters like golovkin...take for instance pac...i love pac...i really do...i was so hyped on him..ive seen him fight live several times....but then i watched the way his fans started talking about floyd and it turned me off and had me rooting for him to lose....

i think everyone starts out wanting to love a guy like golovkin

but people cant go around talking all this and that....and then when it doesnt happen theyre all like "well look at canelo he doesnt ko top level comp either....i mean what guy really does"...after youve talked all that noise about the guy

Golovkin is a horrible boxer in a horrible division, who has been exposed every time he fought anyone with above average skills.

It's no secret that GGG is a limited fighter. He has never shown any separation whenever he steps up in competition, and his so called wins are controversial. He only looks good against low level competition, and casuals like to call it fan friendly. He either looked very average against top guys, or flat out horrible like in the derenyanchenko fight and the canelo 2 fight where he lost.
