Patera pulled it out but those scores were wide.

Valentino is one of the greatest amateurs of the last decade. He had three victories against Josh Taylor. He also beat guys like Aydin, Pedraza and Jose Ramirez as well as Conceicao - the 2016 gold medalist. He also holds a victory over Selimov - the guy who beat Lomachenko. He was in three Olympic Games and won the world amateur championships in 2009.

His style is not suited for the pro ranks, but my god if he wasn't robbed tonight. You can call it a close fight, because it was so ugly and had so little action, but 117-110 for Patera, who was frustrated and hit air all day, is just ridiculous. Patera had success in the 9th and the 12th round, he came forward early as well, if that counts for anything in itself, but to hand in these scorecars in Italy, where Valentino is from, is kind of crazy.

Thanks for the info on Valentino. Would like to see him on these Italian cards again.
