Why there is so much bias against foreign fighters - ignorance

Arguments like these are all over the boxing internet that left unchecked, spread bias and hatred towards foreign fighters. https://twitter.com/CheckMateBoxing/...33333425160192

With many of their other arguments destroyed, now they are claiming the fact Americans and Latinos usually receive preference fighting for the WBC belt, while foreign fighters usually have to fight for the WBO, WBA, or IBF, to say foreign fighters are hypejobs.

That's part 1 of the lies they use to spread their hate. Part 2 is "exposing" the opponents many of them fought for their titles. Bivol fought Broadhurst, not Valera, so the graphic is wrong, but either way, they leave out the fact he wanted to fight Jack for the belt, but Jack ducked him. Jack is a "real nonhypejob champion" to them who had to "earn it," while Bivol is a protected hypejob, but the reality is the opposite, it was Jack who was protected from Bivol.

Usyk fought Glowacki, who stopped the cruiserweight king Marco Huck in a FOTY, but apparently that's a weak way to win your title in your first title in your 11th pro fight.

Beterbiev fought Koelling because Marcus Browne ducked the title eliminator.

Etc etc. This is how they roll. Stay woke

When was the last time a foreign country went hard for a American? That doesn’t happen either just look at the brits they ride like no tomorrow for their guys and hate the “yanks” look at the Russians you will never see them pick a American guy to win a fight against their own ever no matter the match up and don’t even get me started on Mexicans. So this goes both ways people just have too much pride in their guys.

eh...i like loma and usyk....i have respect for them...kovalev too save for a few whiney things he said/did after getting his sheet pushed in by ward...but generally i like him....

most people just cant stand how the double standards get applied to other fighters but they lets the euros slide and when you call them out they just keep making up excuses about "cruiser resumes" and "amatuer pedigrees"....

theyll gladly tell you team golovkin was right to tell lara to "go get in line at 160...you dont bring any fans or money....go beat some guys at 160".....but tell you wilder is already ducking usyk and usyk is deserving of a title shot because of his cruiser resume....they do kinds of stuff like this all the time......theyll tell you that al haymon buys titles or title shots and all this backdoor stuff....yet arum got loma a title shot in his 2nd pro bout lol...and when he lost they whined about how it was unfair and cheap...

they whine when golovkin gets beat...they whine when kova gets beat....its never fair and square....EVER.....i have respect for most of the fighters sans golovkin(i have respect on a certain level where i respect all fighters)....but watch out if usyk and loma ever get beat.....the excuses will fly

            ...Because they're Foreign?

Foreigners HATE Americans but yet want Acceptance in America? How in the hell does that work? So you guys can sit on this forum daily and talk bad about American Fighter but then turn around and want Americans to accept your Foreign Fighter? That is ******!

Now it is like Americans are not ALLOWED to root for their own American Fighters! You guys do it that is considered "PRIDE", when Americans do it then we're considered "RACIST"

Jeff Horn has copped incredible abuse as a 'unknown' foreign fighter who had the cheek to go hard on PacMan, if anyone has copped more crap than Horn name that unfortunate boxer please. Jeff Fenech said just the other day that Packy did not take the fight seriously and when Fenech advised him not to he laughed. Yet Horn gets blamed for the result of Packy's arrogance?

There’s a lot of tribalism and racism among boxing fans. It’s gotten worse over time as more Eastern Europeans (white fighters) have turned pro and had more success.

Tszyu was liked among most boxing fans years back. He’d be despised today.

Regarding them getting title shots. Well, if an American boxer got a title shot after 7-8 fights these same people would demand you think they are great already and praise their guts yet they call the Euros cowards for taking them. It’s a combination of the Euro’s turning pro a little older (the pro set up over there isn’t good and it’s not always as simple as just emigrating right away with a family) and they have more wilingness to just test themselves/less fear of a loss. Fighters here are brought up with the fear that a loss means it’s all over for them and that fan base(anti anything too foreign) pushes that hard so they’d give up on these young guys if they lost. Notice they generally never root for a fighter with a loss?

Obviously American fans tend to like American fighters. If you go to any country, they tend to like fighters born in their country. I don't know why you'd expect American fans to be different.

Some of the backlash is because foreign fighters are willing to take much less money so they get opportunities earlier in their career.

Some of the other backlash is response to how foreign fighters are marketed and promoted. Take Loma for instance. Great fighter. For people to elevate him to the level of Floyd, Duran, Chavez, Leonard etc. after 8 fights is going to cause some people to respond angrily. Take GGG. He is beating not so quality guys and then is being talked about in the same breath as Hagler, Monson or Bhop.

As for names like "hypejob" and "bum", maybe the problem is some posters are too sensitive about fighters they like being called names.
