    Over the next 2-3 years

Floyd beats Baldomir to claim the 147lb title
Spinks to claim a title at 154
Mosley at 147 or 154 for lots of money and legacy
DE LA HOYA at 154 for LOADS of money and legacy
    Hatton at 147 probably
THE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION, which will probably be Jermain Taylor

    and retires undefeated

If he were to do all of that (I don't think he can beat Taylor myself), but if he could. You couldn't really make a case for there ever having been a better fighter. If he only goes so far as the De La Hoya/Hatton part and retires undefeated? Top 3 all time without a doubt.
that would be a hell of a resume but it wouldnt compare to sugar ray leanords he beat, hagler hearns and duran

I Floyd fought Jermin Taylor for the MW at the same time dominating the WW and Jr MW it would be nice but you cant really tell by now.

Who gives a ****, Mike Tyson said he was the best, if your a dedicated fighter and you think you can beat anyone, you have all the right to say your the best of all time, do I think so? no, but he has the potential to be. Do you think Kobe's the best, well he's damn close so let him claim he is. Like I said in another post History will be the judge, so who the **** cares what we think now. IMHO as a fighter you have to think you can beat anyone, you have to believe in you skill, it's all mental, & If you feel you can beat anyone ever, then that your prerogative.

2 Things people have to remember when comparing Mayweather to the past greats.

1: Current fighters are always harder to judge than fighters through history. People might be like, oh, He wasted a match on so-and-so.... but then in a few years so-and-so goes on to beat other top competition and gain titles.

2: People need a foil in boxing. Floyd doesn't really have one. Even if they're not as good as eachother great fighters usually need another fighter at the same time who is similar to their arch-nemesis. Ali had Frazier, Robinson had Lamonta, etc. They don't nescesarily have to have a bunch of fights but often times unless they have somebody to truly push themselves against in the meat of their career people often look past them without their memorable bouts against their arch rival.

History will be kinder to Floyd than the current boxing public is... that's for damn sure.
