Why did the WBC sanction Loma-Campbell?

They stripped Lomachenko of the title immediately before he even announced his next fight.

They also upgraded Haney from interim to champion immediately before he even announced his next fight.

Why did this happen?

If Campbell has beaten Loma, would they have done the same thing? I think they just would have named Haney as Campbell’s mandatory but what do I know.

Yup. I think they just wanted to name another franchise champion so the Canelo favoritism didn’t seem so obvious anymore.

I don't get it and to be honest I don't like it. I've said it in a number of threads Haney is a superstar in the making but he wanted to fight loma and attempt to take that belt like it should be done. I hated it when they gave Charlo one and I hate this, atleast make 1 and 2 fight for it.

I also thought Loma wanted undisputed? He can't do that now, am I wrong there somewhere? Cuz if I'm right where is the fun in holding a title that stops you becoming what most fighters dream of? It don't make no sense to anybody but the people at the WBC who are now guaranteed 2 incomes in that division now from 2 belts. Or atleast that's how it seems.

When Canelo got his franchise belt I thought it was a load of crap but I know Morris silly man has a hard on for canelo I thought this was going to be a one off. WBC is the franchise and their poster boy champ is canelo. The perfect star to leach off.

At the end of the day, Top Rank requested this bullsh**t. Top Rank requested a special exemption to make Lomachenko-Campbell and then two months later requested to essentially have Lomachenko stripped. What an atrocious promotional company.

Top Rank requested it. It’s complete BS! Haney-Abdullaev should never have been for an interim title, it should have been a final eliminator and then Haney should’ve have been made mandatory for Loma. So he either vacates or they fight but instead we now have 2 champions at one weight. Pathetic...
