The diva's P4P #1 because he steamrolled thru the best of British boxing from Liam Smith thru Amir Khan right up to Rocky Fielding.
Too bad Yarde lost to the Rusky or it would have been:
Any Brit from 154 to 175! Viva Mexico!

Ring Magazine has Canelo number 3 pfp behind Loma and Crawford and De La Hoya owns Ring Magazine. Like I said pfp is just opinion and not provable fact and every fight fan has a different list as is their right.

Canelo is number 1 p4p for what he's done SINCE being completely dominated by Floyd. He's earned his spot by beating the best.

Well, **** man, like anyone on the forum I do love to share my opinion, but, I think I should warn you, unless you find history interesting this will probably bore you.

I don't think p4p should be lists, it's a title, like lineal. It should connect all the p4ps ever to Nonpareil Dempsey, the original p4p and the man the title was invented for.

p4p shouldn't include HWs. P4p is specifically a comparison to the HW champion.

              p4p must be a champion.

p4p is the man who if weight wasn't as issue would be the world champion of boxing.

Everything else is bull****, most of which was made up by Ring.

So, I'm really not hard to please and willing to listen to just about any argument.

Is Canelo a single person and not a list? Yep.

              Is he a HW? Nope.

Could he lick a HW champion if they were the same size? I reckon that's true enough.

Could you ****in' imagine a ****in HW Pac-Man? Wilder, Joshua, Fury, Ruiz, I don't actually giva ****, Pac would knock those *****es out...if he weren't tiny.

I kinda pay attention to these debates for the sole purpose of forming an opinion on who I reckon is p4p king of boxing 'cause from my perspective that's the toughest question to answer.

Back when it was guys like RJJ, Money, Pac, Ward, Hopkins, so on and so forth for most my life it was obvious. JJ up and proved he could do it! Ward, I still reckon if Ward could fight in the 200+ and still be Ward he'd get him a title. Pac I done spoke on and Money, TBE, PBF, man you're crazy if you think Tyson Fury has **** on Floyd's array of techniques. If Floyd could be a HW he'd whoop everyone at HW for sure.

These days, kinda hard to pick. Most the guys on p4p lists I wouldn't favor against HW champions even if weight wasn't an issue.

I know, no one thinks of p4p this way anymore, but to me, the p4p champion of boxing is a better title than simply #1 p4p so I prefer the historical usage and that is totally centered on a comparison between the HW champion and champion nominated for p4p honors.

I could call Bud p4p. Or Loma. But for me, I reckon Canelo and Pac-Man are the most sure bets for men who could, if weight wasn't an issue, beat all the champions, former, everyone including prime K2 even. The first guy I'd question against either Pac or Nelo would be Lennox. Lennox I'd favor.

If canelo beat his best opponents convincingly, then he’d definitely be p4p #1. It’s hard to make the claim when a lot of people had him losing his most meaningful fights.
