Originally posted by kayjayIbragimov blew it. A few of the early rounds were throwaways and it came back to hurt him. I don't know how one judge had it 115-111.
Give Austin credit for adjusting, but I get what youre saying. Sultan didnt take any chances.Comment

I knew his defense was vulnerable and that he'd have trouble with a good hard straight right hand puncher but I didnt think austin had enough firepower to keep sultan at bay. so much for that. I was very disappointed with sultan. against whitaker he kept coming forward with punches in bunches. he showed no fear at all. not tonite,,,he was too hesitant to come in becuase he squares up when he punches and leaves himself open and knew he couldnt get away with it without getting hurt. wlad klit,,peter or even rahman and maskeav would probably all knock him out. he's still fun to watch but if he doesnt improve he wont go anywhereOriginally posted by Hitman932you read my ****in mind
this is the best thing that could have happened in light of how badly igbraminov was exposed and how slow and sloppy austin is.
i eat my words on sultan, i had high hopes for this guy, but not anymoreComment

Austin deserves all the credit in the world for turning around a tough fight. I was referring to rounds 2,3, and 5, before Austin had made adjustments. Ibragimov should have had himself ahead by six points after five rounds, but he gave those points away.Originally posted by boxingguy1226Give Austin credit for adjusting, but I get what youre saying. Coming in 12 pounds overweight does not help at all in a full 12 round fight. I am very diappointed in Sultan. He barely escaped the loss tonight.
Wlad will demolish Sultan within 7-8 rounds.Comment

yea,,that was ridiculous coming in that much heavier. I think that was part of the reason he was so much less agressive then in his last fight. he was probably worried about his stamina,,,but the thing that impressed me most was the lack of fear he showed against whitaker. he would just charge right in with combos to the head and body without even a thought of getting caught whereas tonite he looked very timed about getting inside austins reach. I was very disappointed. he's not as tough mentally as I thought he was and would probably be cannon fodder for wlad if he had won tonite. if I was his manager I'd keep him away from wlad,,peter..rahman and maskeav until he improves. hes just too sloppy on defense to have a good chance against those guys. they'd murder him coming in without jabbing and squaring upOriginally posted by NautilusComing in 12 pounds overweight does not help at all in a full 12 round fight. It was a hell of a fight, I thought both guys fought well. You dont see many Heavyweight fights with action like that, Im glad I saw it live.
Wlad would domolish the Ibragimov that showed up tonight. I had Ibraginov by one round, I gave round 11 to Ibragimov.Comment
