That’s a fan and not a reputable journalist so who knows.
I don’t know why he would make that up but who knows? -

The pertinent part of the article per google translate:
What's is slightly strange or possibly amusing is that it translates Gvozdyk to 'carnation' meaning the kinda pinkish / red colour or of course in English a kind of flower. My team knows that I want to fight Beterbiev
- Is it right to say that until the ninth round it was generally equal boxing? And someone had an advantage, in your opinion?
“Arthur was a little better.” Until the ninth round, maybe a draw, but Arthur still looked better. Not much, but better.
- Who did you lead by the 10th round?
- To be honest, I did not count in rounds. To say for sure, you must immediately consider or revise.
- How did it turn out that Carnation was the leader among the judges?
- I dont know. Fair. Maybe they gave him equal rounds.
- Well, now defy Beterbiev ?!
- I always said that I want fighting for the belt. And, of course, I want a fight with Beterbiev! Although I understand that Arthur is now the most dangerous person in boxing. He carries a huge danger to anyone, a 100 percent knockout. But he owns belts, and this is very attractive. Arthur is a risky option for any person, but this risk is now justified. If Arthur could have been avoided before, because he is a knockout and very dangerous, now they will not be avoided. Championship belts are needed by everyone.

I'll be honest, I thought Beterbiev was too crude to beat the elite at LHW. I never thought he'd be on Kovalev's level even though he did beat him as an amateur. Color me shocked at the weekends result.
That said, I would expect Bivol to beat him without a while lot of trouble because he's a counter puncher with more pop than Gvozdyk and better defense.Last edited by Boxing Goat; 10-22-2019, 10:04 AM.Comment

The amount of energy Gvozdyk was using up because of nerves and the threat of Beterbiev was quite telling. I was impressed at how calmly Beterbiev was closing the distance on him, thought Beterbiev was winning the fight anyway but his tactics of utilizing a lot of bodyshots showed as the fight progressed. By the later rounds Gvozdyk was no longer moving nearly as much and he was easy pickings for Beterbiev.
Really interested to see how Bivol fairs, think he is better technically than Gvozdyk but not sure if he hits as hard or is as durable (Beterbiev walked through Gvozdyks shots like they were nothing).Comment

Beterbiev knew exactly what he was doing, and was in control the entire time. It was as if he knew going in that Gvozdyk wasn't going to be able to handle him.The amount of energy Gvozdyk was using up because of nerves and the threat of Beterbiev was quite telling. I'm not convinced Beterbiev doesn't have much more to his game then what we saw in the Gvozdyk fight. I believe he ultilized that tactic because he knew that was all he needed to do.
Superb performance, and those judges scorecards didn't truly tell the story of the fight.Comment

Yeah I agree man, very confident and in-control performanceBeterbiev knew exactly what he was doing, and was in control the entire time. It was as if he knew going in that Gvozdyk wasn't going to be able to handle him.
