    Kyotaro stops Suthat in Tokyo

Earlier today in Tokyo fight fans saw former Heavyweight triple crown holder Kyotaro Fujimoto [藤本京太郎] end a break of more than a year out of the ring, as he stopped Thai foe Suthat Kalalek.

Suthat came out looking for a big right hand, trying to catch Kyotaro cold. The Japanese fighter however adapted well, and quickly took control behind his foot work. That footwork opened up the space for Kyotaro to get his body shots into play and those proved to be very effective. Those body shots sapped the stamina from the Thai and in round 6 he was looking spent as Kyotaro moved in for the finish.

A further flurry of body shots saw Suthat crouch in a defensive posture, forcing the referee to rule a knockdown, before being downed again and again, to get Kyotaro a 6th round TKO win.

After the bout Kyotaro spoke about how he'd prepared for this bout, with around 80 rounds of sparring, and eaten well. He also added that he wants a world title shot and is hoping to become a dual-combat sports competitor, adding MMA to his boxing career.

Suthat on the other hand complained about a lack of Heavyweight sparring in Thailand.
