Comments Thread For: Lewis Ritson: I Want Big Money Fight With Prograis-Taylor Winner

Lewis Ritson is a step closer to a world title challenge after getting the better of Robbie Davies Jr. The pair did battle at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, exclusively live on Sky Sports and DAZN. Ritson will be hoping that his shot at global honours will come at the home of his beloved Newcastle United, St James' Park, and Davies Jr. will be looking to bounce back after suffering the second defeat of his professional career.

He wins a British title level type fight and expects a "life changing money" fight next against a unified champion?!

He needs to beat a top-10 ranked fighter or two first I think.

I know it's ridiculous. He's at least two grades behind Prograis and Taylor. Not even close. Let's see how he fares against a ranked opponent. I can't see him going much further unless he levels up.

Then he wants them to come to him. Like the magic can only work at home.

Let's just be glad these are not PBC fighters. And I see a glimmer of hope for this sport of boxing. But first we have to see if these guys are real or not with their first real tests. Not to mention these are the future that could take over in next division which is the welterweight.

Ritson is better off re-matching Davies Jr before taking these big fights.

Yeah, okay. You have like two levels to go through before speaking like this. Fight someone in the top 10 then 5 first.

Ritson just chancing his luck here. Funny thing is if Taylor wins I could almost see it happening. Easy fight coming off the back of 3 or 4 really tough ones for him, big Scottish v English fight in the north, easy sell in the U.K.

If Prograis wins then no chance, he’ll be onto bigger money in the US.
