  • Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz: "Hell No" Anthony Joshua is Not Touching My Belts!

When Andy Ruiz first met Anthony Joshua in June for their heavyweight showdown, there was a moment during the promotion of the fight in which the British boxer just handed over his belts to Ruiz and his trainer Manny Robles as both parties posed with Joshua's WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO belts.

Ruiz is going to retire AJ and it will be both hilarious and marvelous at the same time. He never was more than a hype job.

AJ 100% will retire when he loses. Too bad that Eddie Snake put this much pressure on AJ. He needs serious work and change of style and can't do that in just a few months. Plus, Eddie doesn't want AJ to start from ground zero to try and a get title shot.

DAZN's last stand is placed on AJ's back, and I just don't think he has the heart to win. Ruiz stops him in 5 and the American takeover will officially be over. Once Ruiz let's him taste that power, AJ will have a flashback to that Stanky Leg performance he had back in MSG.

Ruiz is hard not to like. Full of personality. Comes off approachable and genuine. 50/50 fight.

Is it just me or is it weird seeing AJ without any belts when just a couple months ago he and Eddie (mainly Eddie) were talking about calling all the shots, and how AJ was going to pay the rent for Miller's mom, and that fighters only wanted to fight AJ because of the money they would make. Now AJ is pretty much in a must win scenario just to salvage his fan base. Not to mention even if he's successful beating Ruiz he's going to need Fury and Wilder to further prove he's still the top guy because most people will debate otherwise.

I hope for the popularity of the sport, AJ is able to win and win clearly. He generates huge attention and brought so much growth to the sport we all love. I'm not sure why people want him to lose really? Having said that, Ruiz is a joy to watch and I don't wish anything but luck to him either

My sources tell me that Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn have suddenly abandoned training camp and have engaged in a expedition in search of a magic Genie lamp from a unknown cave in the Saudi desert.

Same people being surprised (and they ALL were) at Andy winning will be surprised when the loss is returned.
