Gvozdyk punches never looked like they hurt Beterbiev. Not once. You can move around all you want but when your punches have 0 effect it means nothing.

Beterbiev isn’t invincible. Carl Froch in his prime would take him out.

I had Beterbiev winning 6-3 at the time of the stoppage.

I don't disagree; I had it 6-3 Gvozdyk going into 10, but he had really dropped off pretty hard in the previous couple rounds, the win was without controversy and both scenarios (Gvozdyk edging Beter's boxing and Beter getting a stoppage) were staked as likely outcomes, so, kind of a pointless assertion. Basically, so what? One of the year's best.

That's similar to the way I saw it. Gvozdyk did a good job but he was spent and getting hurt in the last 2 rounds. Gvozdyk was missing almost all his punches and his hands were much slower AND he couldn't move on his feet like he did earlier in the fight. He became totally immobilized.

Exactly, Beter had pretty much reduced him to a shambling zombie by the end. Still, it feels like Gvoz is being shortchanged by some. Even if you had Biev ahead at that point, which I wouldn't dispute too much as most of the rounds were tight and competitive, Gvoz was giving him a fight. I definitely don't agree in particular with this idea I've seen that Beter was just "toying" with him and dragging out the inevitable. No, more like he had his hands full and couldn't immediately commence with imposing his will. No complaints from me though, great fight.

i thought the nail was winning until maybe the 5th? when beterbiev started landing those disgusting bodyshots that were near enough folding the nail in half. that was the beginning of the end.

Beterbiev came out really fast in the first round trying to impose his will but Gvozdyk maneuvered really well and caught Artur with some good shots...after that Beterbiev settled down a lot. He became much more cautious and had to change his tactics. People are hallucinating if they think that Gvozdyk's punches weren't having a big effect on Beterbiev. Artur knew he had to be careful while he was breaking Gvozdyk down....If he felt like OG's punches weren't dangerous then he sure must enjoy getting buzzed, because he definitely got clipped really well a few times....There were plenty of times that he had to retreat and regain his composure...The fanboys on here seem to develop selective amnesia after their hero wins the fight and they have an inability to give any credit to the loser who fought like a warrior and made their hero dig deep. This was an excellent fight. Both guys deserve lots of credit.

because Teddy Atlas is a pos trainer that makes the fight about him yelling between the round for theatrics. A trainer should never yell at a ighter when he's getting beat up. This shows that the trainer is nervous therefore making the fighter more nervous and nervousness drains energy. Atlas is a great motivational speaker, but I wouldn't want that man anywhere near my corner if I were a fighter. He also has a couple of great books out that I love.

I had it 5-4 Gvozdyk going into the 10th. I gave Gvozdyk 1,3,4,6,8.
