    Usyk is ducking Povetkin

Usyk said he could never fight Povetkin because of the Russia vs. Ukraine aspect. He said he wouldn’t want to be a part of the political sideshow that goes along with that.

The fight was offered to him and he turned it down.

We have Russia vs. the Ukraine tonight and there’s no political side show happening.

Usyk also fought Gassiev, who’s Russian and there wasn’t any issue.

I think it’s clear he saw Povetkin as a high risk and low reward type fight. I expect him to fight more Chazz Witherspoon types until his cash out title shot.

Beterbeiv and Gassiev are NOT Russians they're from an Independent Ethnic Republics administered by the Russian Federation just like what Ukraine and Kazachstan used to be. They are almost completly Autonomous with their own forms of government, Militaries,President or other Head of State,Offical Language and some even have there own currency. Povetkin is from an "Oblast" which is a province of the greater Slavic Russian Ethno-state. He is 100% Russian and speaks Russian as a first language which would play into the centuries old Racial tension between Ukrainian and Russians.

Povetkin would be a really hard fight for him. Should be. If Usyk dominates him in any way I'd be really impressed.

              LOL.

              Trying to save skin?

They are absolutely Russian and come on stage with Russian flags. They speak RUSSIAN!

In any case... Usyk and Povetkin were very friendly. It is too much risk for him to go up to Povetkin at this time.

What is it with people who know fucc all about Eastern Europe, its people, its history etc. commenting on it? Usyk and Povetkin are Slavs and they suffered greatly after the Bolshevik Revolution, Christians were persecuted and churches destroyed, much like what happened to historical Chinese temples and culture after the communist 'cultural revolution'. Usyk has commented years ago about not wanting to cause a divide between Russian and Ukrainian people over Crimea because they are all Slavic brothers.

This is very reasonable, both are Orthodox Christian Slavs and it is his personal choice to make. It's sort of like how you won't see Khabib fight his countryman Islam Makhachev at all. Not every fighter is like this but some fighters have principles that they live and swear by.

Americans are ignorant to the world, all you are taught is about ****s and the holocaust / US slave trade so perhaps you should stick to those topics that you have been taught since birth and leave Eastern European matters to those people. Studying both I can tell you the holocaust didn't have anything in terms of sheer size of genocide and suffering that Eastern Europeans had last century and for instance what Chinese people have gone through that you are never taught about in school.

You cannot possibly be ducking Povetkin while going after AJ, Ruiz and Wilder anyway so let's get that straight.

Usyk has put himself in a stronger position than Povetkin has, I think it would be a very good payday for Usyk if say a very rich Russian influencer gets involved. Would be a good fight I'm sure.
