Why go to the effort of creating an alt?

Is it really so important to post ****** comments that you need to create alt accounts to do so?

Find out a way to get some self respect. Your actions are not the actions of someone who likes them self.

I started a thread yesterday inviting all to name and identify the "Alts" that are active now.
It will give us a clue as to who the Alts are and give them a chance to come clean (obviously doubtful).
But really, assuming alternate personas on a forum is generally a ban-able offense and compromises the integrity of the entire community.
I know there are ways around 'getting caught', but I feel led to speak up and discourage this practice.

I appreciate your candor. Shawn Taylor appears to be another currently active charlaton screen name. Any others ?

Well that's a good question. Cuz on my other thread I talk about how more seasoned members might be more qualified to make those assumptions...
But for me, the first thing obviously is the join date, and the content of their first 25 posts. They generally have a strong opinion or an attitude similar to someone who was posting in the past.
Then there's the lack of transparency and realness. When asked or confronted about being an "ALt", the response and reaction is also very telling.
Bottom line is you can't always know for sure and if someone is being completely straight forward and honest. Unfortunately in this climate of social media, I've come to know what to expect. It's a bit sad. We have the opportunity to portray "the best version of ourselves", anonymously, yet many of us consistently choose to display undesirable and unbecoming characteristics....
It is what it is, and I can only control me, by the grace of God.
