Most body punchers are great at defending body shots. Plus Canelo is a fast counter puncher

Kovalev chances are fighting from the outside with those longs arms.

Yep he's gotta soften the carrot head up from the outside, and try and catch him as he rushes in with well-timed power shots that Alvarez will surely feel given his small size.

The way Kovalev hits the body is with his power jab, that's what wore out Yarde.

            Some XXX-Large shorts!

I like Buddy, he has a sense of humor : )

“For the record, nobody likes to get hit to the body,” McGirt dismissively stated. “I don’t give a s*** who you are. So what we did (to prepare for Alvarez), though, was order Kovalev some (XXX-Large) shorts and we’re gonna pull the shorts up to his chest. Then we’ll be OK.”

LOL. Kovalev is gonna hit Canelo in the body? For real? He was never a body puncher, and Canelo is 4 inches shorter. It would be a miracle if Kovalev can land more than 3 bodyshots over 12 rounds.

That's where G and Abel dropped the ball. G was getting countered all night and taking them like a champ but was trying to take Canelos head off both fights. I saw G land 1 good hook to the body in the 2nd fight that noticeably bothered Nelo in the 9th or 10th Rd I think, but he never followed up.
Canelo is also almost ALWAYS shorter and that makes it hard to get there because as the taller fighter you have to make yourself shorter...making a clean target for Ca$hnelo

McGirt stops all his fights way too early. He says this every round of every fight his fighters are in. Show me something. I'm not gonna keep letting you take those shots
