We live in an era where you see fighters at the top of the p4p list without fighting the best of their classes. When I think genuine of p4p of any recent memory, to my mind come the like DLH, Trinidad, Barrera, Mosley, Mayweather, Andre Ward, B-Hopkins, Pacquiao, Chavez, Duran, Hearns, Leonard, Tyson, Holyfield, Hagler...do you know what I mean???

this thread is the product of an era that has 4 major titles. Just wait until someone powerful with cash makes the IBO an official title within the next 10 years or so. Then there will be 5 major titles per weight class(not including the WBA's multiple champions) and boxing will really be even more f'd up.

What's happening to Crawford is the same thing that happened to Bernard Hopkins for years at middleweight. Just replace Haymon with Don King. Hopkins had to sign with King to unify the division(Holmes, Trinindad) in a contract he most likely wasn't happy about. Its funny fans of the sport suck the **** of promoters/managers supporting these kind of tactics.

I’m going to assume you haven’t seen him box if you’re calling him a hypejob.

Umm. Even though I've of the opinion that P4P is just ****** as a concept, if you are gonna subscribe to it you surely got to understand that it's relative... to be P4P #1 you don't gotta have done anything great, you just gotta have done a lil bit better than the guy at #2.

'Sides it strikes me you maybe got some nostalgia going on cos most of the top P4Pers have actually beaten #1s like Postol or Glowacki or Linares or Narvaez (all #1s beaten by current top P4Pers; Crawford, Usyk, Loma and Inoue respectively) and have won titles across several divisions or become undisputed (both in the case of Crawford).

Not quite sure what more you can ask of these guys past beating the best guys around, less you want to send 'em back in a time machine to fight some historical greats (most of whom were probably compared unfavourably to their predecessors much as you're doing to the top fighters of today).

Crawford is yet again in another mismatch. He's supposed be the best p4p but his best win is little Gamboa.

He's a 3 division champ yet his resume is still trash. He's kinda like Broner in that aspect

I don't see how Bud could possibly be a hype job. Nobody wants to fight the guy!

                      Hypejob? No.

He's made out to be p4p #1 type boxer but knocked out glass-jaw Khan, poor man's Mickey Ward in Jeff Horn, a sloppy af Indongo, and a "i took a bullet in the knee" Benavidez etc.

He's an very good boxer from the eye test. Much better than the likes of Broner, Davis, Khan etc but his cv is flimsy at best.

For all the reasons people question Spence and GGG etc. Crawford is escaping when he also hasnt fought anyone big time. Not even 2nd tier like Thurman, Porter, Brook.

So he's a bit of an illusion but he's not all hype, he has ability, he just hasnt fought anyone worth a damn.
