Either way u think Usyk fights for a belt that was first dumped by Fury then dumped by AJ/Ruiz winner...so nobody would recognize Usyk as champ anyway. He should be made to fight Parker or Whyte who would both beat him IMO.
I don’t AJ has any incentive to fight Usyk. The guy hasn’t done anything in the HW division. He came in, fought a semi-retired guy who’s a career bum and straight away he wants a shot at a big payday. That’s basically an entitlement he doesn’t deserve. If he were a big draw, it would make sense. He needs to earn the shot.

Hearn wants the fight to happen because AJ is most likely leaving Matchroom after the rematch (his brand is big enough now for him to start promoting himself). And say he doesn’t leave - he has 2 fights left on his Matchroom deal. So he’ll most likely fight Pulev and a next soft touch - then make the big fights under his promotional company.

The era of AJ jumping into fights with no rewards is over. He sees what Fury and Wilder are doing and no matter what he does, haters are still going to follow him around. And with 3-4 years max left in his career - he’ll start mixing the soft touch fights in foreign countries with the big fights until he retires. Fight Pulev in the UK for British fans. Then a soft touch in Dubai, Japan, Qatar or China for Money grab.

Dunno I could see usyk losing to both these guys if his only plan is to out point them. Usyk isn't that hard to hit. Ruiz is about his height albeit with slower feet. Rui has really fast hands and will land on him with proper heavyweight power. I could see AJ simply overwhelming him.. Usyk is a marvelous boxer though so he'll have his chances..

Usyk is highly skilled and very boring to watch, but then again he does nullify many opponents strengths, although he doesn't have the flash of American fighters.

This is what logic tells me. 1.) Money although a motivator for Wilder is not his prime motivator. He probably has enough money to support his preferred lifestyle and has invested well. 2.) How much money one has does not equate to intelligence (Fury is a good example of this). 3.) Wilder likes to be thought of as different and that is important to him. In this respect he is similar to Fury.

Wilder obviously does not care too much about what other people think about him. That's pretty apparent when you consider how brash and outspoken he is. He also speaks to the moment based on how he feels and that explains his contradictory statements. With Wilder you do not get a carefully orchestrated public image that does not reflect reality. What you see with Wilder is his actual persona. In other words he isn't a phony.

Wilder does understand that he can lose. Some of his statements indicate he wouldn't consider an "L" to mean he isn't a great heavyweight champion. The great ones can come back from a loss and still make plenty of money and cement their legend. Maybe this is what AJ will do?

Usyk can make waves at hw. He can beat any of the bigger guys (except perhaps Fury) and can do very well agaist Ruiz imo.

If he thinks he can just move up to HW and make a quick buck he's got another thing coming. The only cruiserweight who moved up to HW in recent years and made a **** load of money was David Haye and he had to chase Wladmir Klitschko down like a dog to earn it. USYK can't even speak English so good luck with that.
