Take it to the history section to get qualified answers. The majority here barely know who they are let alone watched this fight.

Yeah I realized I should have posted there after I put it here...never really post there though so didn't think of it beforehand

Back then it was perfectly OK to score an even round . If you thought the damn round was even you scored it even. Now it's against the rules for a judge to call a round even. You must give the round to one boxer or the other even if you think the round was dead even. That's part of the reason why we get such ***ed up score cards. When a judge can't call a round even he tends to give all the rounds he would have called even to his favorite of the two boxers. In fights like Hagler vs Leonard there were usually a few rounds the judges scored even. I scored that fight 6 rounds for Hagler and 4 rounds for Leonard with two even rounds. I am sure Hagler would have won a rematch easily. Hagler was great in rematches and always KOed the guy in a rematch.

I thought SRL won close but clear, Hagler didn't do much for the first 7 rounds from what I remember.

Yeah I felt it was clear to SRL...as you said, I didn't see Hagler even start to fight until the 2nd half of the fight, and I felt those rounds were pretty even...just never can see how Hagler gets to even 5 or 6 rounds in that fight.
