Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker Has Recovered, Will Keep Close Eye on Chisora-Price

According to manager David Higgins, former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has recovered from a suspected spider bite. Parker is eager and ready to return to the ring before the year is over. Parker became ill after a suspected spider bite, forcing him to withdraw from a planned fight against Derek Chisora - set down for the Regis Prograis-Josh Taylor bill at The O2 on October 26.

Gay. Give Usyk the winner of that fight instead.

Any truth to the rumour he's being paid as a stand in for AJ Ruiz just in case? 🤔

Makes sense. It's a rematch with any of the players involved.

Chisora should got that WBA reg fight.

If Ruiz-Josh gets stripped I want Chisora vs Povetkin for the WBO....or, maybe Briggs or Tarver. Basically, make in an old timers belt.

Basically. Typical Matchroom USA shifting scheduling around. If it were truly a spider bite then Parker would’ve trolled the wound on social media. Usually a crazy spider bite from out there can become necrosis, takes about 6 months + to full heal.

Usyk scheduling was a perfect example of DAZN allowing Hearn to fool around with strategic matchmaking. Not that it all really matters. I think Chisora is happy he’s getting a bigger cut against Price, what he wanted from the beginning.

Tbh wouldn’t be surprised if Eddie wants Parker on the Undercard. Gives Matchroom a ton of flexibility to play with. Let’s assume AJ wins, Eddie could orchestra AJ vs Parker before we see Usyk getting dibs on the mando because I everyone involved will just play the part.

On this note however, I hope Ruiz Jr. signs with DAZN. They’ve been promoting him heavy. I’d imagine he’s grateful for that. What else is there for Ruiz Jr. on PBC if DAZN could pay him more!

Parker would be a good next fight for Usyk.

Stand in for AJ, Ruiz or either? Hardly would make sense to stand in for AJ given that AJ has contractual exclusivity to fight Ruiz. If AJ can't fight - the fight should be off (I hope it is spelled out in the contract).

It does not make sense. If Parker replaces AJ and beats Ruiz, Parker will have no contractual obligation to AJ, unless specified otherwise in Parker's contract with Matchroom.
