Hogan isn't good, regardless of the Munguia performance. he's basically a journeyman.

Agree it should have been the Korobov rematch. But after losing and getting a gift last time out, he and Haymon thought better of it.

Kind of sad to see jermall being forgotten and avoided by a lot of top MWs. Jermall has the best chance at KO'ing GGG or canelo, while andrade would box circles around them.

Charlo is sitting on more event money to fight than any fighter currently 154-168 not named Saul Alvarez or Golovkin (though that half the purse in illiquid private stock was a nice PR inflation, lol).

DAZN has Alvarez, Golovkin, Saunders, Andrade, and Jacobs, and their not going to let them fight off of the platform (and aren't willing to put up the money needed to convince Charlo not to fight on his own show that sells pretty well and draws good TV money, that he's taking maybe 70% of).

Tough titty, but this is kind of how it is; Charlo's on a freeze-out but he's got the most money sans Alvarez (and likely Golovkin), while also being on the broadest platforms to build his profile from.

Hogan in December on Showtime, a possible setup for a Summer fight with Derevyanchenko, Matvey Korobov is back in the mix and will cement his place with a good win, potentially Jarrett Hurd moving up to 160lbs, and you've got young and talented (but not well known) guys like Kanat Islam less than a handful of fights away.

Mix in a couple of ho-hums, and you've got 8 fights that, while not PPV, could headline shows on FOX or Showtime, outdrawing anything on DAZN that's not Canelo, while he waits on Canelo to make the business decision (DAZN won't back Golovkin with enough money to get Charlo over tbh, and Golovkin isn't giving up a penny to help make the fight either).

Because Canelo has the Kovalev fight in November, and if he wins that, there's basically a three-month window for anyone else to stamp their ticket for the May Canelo PPV; Andrade-Butler seems possible for December, and without ever seeing Butler fight, he's a handsome kid from Montreal who seems to punch pretty well (28-1-1 with 24 stoppages; first guy to stop Tyner is a nice feather too).

Winner of that is as good as any for a middleweight fight with Alvarez... and then you have September; outside of another move to 168lbs (to fight Bivol, Callum, Saunders) Canelo is down to putting money in Golovkin's pocket or hammering out the deal with Jermall Charlo.

The numbers are basically known to both camps (Haymon was in the loop for the Jacobs talks and Charlo is coming into these talks as the better commodity, tbh); DAZN wants a big fight, Canelo gets his $35m, Jermall gets his $15m-$20m, and Jermall leaves the rest of the money to Canelo because it's his show (Mexican TV, DAZN gets the other countries it carries, Sky Box Office gets the UK, etc).

And if Alvarez wins that fight in style, he likely chills again until May 2021

Some good points but Butler seems to be fighting Murata instead of Andrade.

Hogan deserved a Mungia rematch which he was never getting. This fight seems like a mismatch but Hogan is pretty durable and hasn't been knocked out...yet! Hopefully there is a decent undercard for this event.

When Charlo tried to get Rolls the PBC fans were really excited but he got Hogan instead. That's ok, it's a big step up and a fight PBC fans want even if it's PPV.

They try to mask their gift decision by fighting another who was a victim of losing a gift decision from lower weight class
