I have serious doubts about what Floyd will be able to do at 154, but I suppose the verdict is mixed. Floyd can't say he is dominate from his lower weights all the way up to 154, though, because in the last few weight classes I don't think he's done enough to make that claim. Now if he fights Oscar next year at 154, and stays there, then we'll have seen him rush out of another weight, this time Welterweight, and not have any solid accomplishments.
I like Floyd, but the past pound for pound kings in days of old would have 12 fights a year...I mean...can you really stay at the top of all rankings if you only have one or two fights in an entire year, and perhaps like 2006 may show, against no one overly impressive? Just wondering.Comment

PBF will not lose to any of these guys at 147 or at 154.
Delahoya
Mosley
Cotto
Hatton
Spinks
Baldy
Margerito
Wright
The only weight he may lose is at 160 against Taylor or some of the other big puncher from the middleweight, I think 160 might be a little too much for PBF.
PBF does lack the power he had at 130, but he can still box and make all the names above look like a fool, I don't see any of these guys beating PBF.Comment

Floyd greatness does not come from just speed, the man can fight off the ropes just like James Toney if he wants to, he has too many tools, his defense is too damn good, I can see a slow versiopn of PBF still outbox everyone.Originally posted by Super_LightweightFloyd has already looked slower at 147. His speed is starting to suffer by gaining weight. He cannot make up for this with his power. He is quite capable of losing to the right guy at 147.
At 154, he would not be a safe bet to defeat Karmazin, Ouma, Spinks, De La Hoya, or Mosley.Comment

I really think to make it to that extra level, just above pound for pound great, where the casual fan or nobody on the street recognizes you, as a boxer, you need to have a good punch. I know that we can't expect the lower weightclasses to produce Mike Tysons, but look at Oscar de la Hoya. He has that hook...and it drops even the big boys, despite his weight.
Floyd's lack of power, I think, will eventually box him and he'll suffer for it.Comment
