For a split second I thought they dragged a former champ from 30 years ago out of retirement; wouldn't be overly surprising after hearing about Benn Snr booking a one-off fight and the likes of Holyfield Snr and Chavez Snr announcing exhibitions.
While I was happy to realize that this wasn't yet another 50 something year old having a late mid-life crisis, I'll admit to not having heard much of this younger cousin of Tim Witherspoon. Has anyone on here ever seen him fight? Looking at Boxrec he's not fought anyone with a pulse since 2009, unless you count the very short career of Seth Mitchell.

If it wasnt so close to fight time and a venue had not been set, then it would have made sense to make Usyk vs Chisora, but since they had already sold Chicago and O2 for both separate fights then that wasn't likely an option.
