Draw at the worst. Count the cut rightfully from a punch and there u have it.

Maybe Derev did get robbed
Whatever the case is, there is nobody out there that made GGG look more human than the Technician. I thought Derev won. Completely outboxed him. GGG looked clueless and frustrated in there.
GGG is the de facto, protected asset, because with the money he is getting paid now he can't afford to lose to the likes of Derev. Otherwise all the good fights don't get made. Including maybe the Canelo trilogy.
So the powers that be just made GGG win.
GGG knows he didn't win that fight.
I love GGG.
But it's all about the money at this stage of his career.Comment

I get that some people have the urge to call it a robbery but it really wasn't. That was a close fight with several swing rounds and a KD. SD won one round clearly and GGG won one or two very clearly. And boxing isn't just about throwing a bunch of punches that aren't landing, FYI.Comment

Props to both! I would like to see a rematch. If Golovkin and Canelo never fight again that would be fine with me but a rematch with SD would be a good one.Comment

This is one of the truest statements I've ever read on NSB. People compare the results vs. expectations much more than judging the actual fight.Comment

In both fights Golivkin was the betting favorite. The underdog who was given the benefit because he did better than expected was Canelo. He was also the media darling and main draw. A perfect storm of factors to render one of the worst decisions in recent memory.I couldn't agree more. Just because ggg went the distance with Canelo in the first fight they called it a draw. Some people started crying robbery. But Canelo clearly won the fight. The most you could have given ggg was a draw and he got it.
2nd fight was completely different. Even Abel Sanchez said they lost the fight minutes after the 2nd fight was over. He even made things clear by saying "it wasn't a robbery" and "we're not going to make excuses"Comment
