Why Spence and Crawford such low PPV #’s??

I mean, they’re apparently touted as the two best in the division right now!

But unfortunately, that doesn’t mean much. They’re both overrated, and numbers prove it....

Manny is the #1 WW in the division right now.
    Again, the numbers prove it...

You have to be realistic and know the numbers that Money and Manny did were not on average to what normal numbers do especially when these guys are only on their 1st and 2nd PPVs.
Actually I'm not sure but I don't think Mayweather did more than 130k on his first PPV.
At this stage of their career I think both are doing average numbers which if they keep getting good opponents should keep increasing each new PPV.
It's a niche sport that is hard to sell to the masses.
So it is what it is.

I actually think it would produce a decent number. But the problem is going to be distribution. Is it gonna be Fox, ESPN, or both. If it’s both then the number won’t be big enough for all parties involved to make a profit. And they won’t make the fight until all parties can make a profit.

Compare Spence first two PPV's to Floyd's & Oscar then write another topic.

          You’re overthinking it bud.
The reason is neither of them are entertaining, not in the slightest. From their performances, personalities, refusal to fight tough opposition.

              Floyd first ppv did 350k

              Pacquiao first ppv did 350k

Canelo first ppv without Floyd did 350k

Cotto first ppv did 60k against paulie

It took them years to crack 1 million buys

Spence is where he should be right now ppv buy wise.

So not only are they older than Pacquiao and May on their first PPV’s, they’re also selling less on their first pov’s?

Spence ain’t entertaining bruh. He hasn’t fought consistent top competition and he keeps ducking Crawford. They’re ain’t nobody he can fight to get #’s past 500K other than Manny or Canelo.

Errol Spence’s PPV numbers from the Shawn Porter fight are right up there with Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather early PPVs. According to the numbers, what made both Pacquiao and Mayweather mega PPV stars was beating Oscar De La Hoya. For both Pacquiao and Mayweather look at the numbers pre ODLH then post Oscar. Major momentum swing. Errol Spence and Terence Crawford need an Oscar De La Hoya. Probably the closest they’ll get is Manny Pacquiao or facing each other. And if you check Oscar’s early numbers, it looks like his major momentum shift was Julio César Chávez. These guys need that big signature win. Neither has gotten it just yet. If one of them beats the other AND Pacquiao, they’ll probably double or even triple their numbers. And who knows in a few years there could be a big PPV fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr to keep things interesting

Its the current climate. Spence PPV numbers (if true) were not bad for the current climate. Crawfords last ones must of been seen as a bit of a dissapointment but most of them are struggling to break 500k, and thats in America. There are a couple of guys who seem to be able to draw the kinds of numbers we saw in the crazy 90's but most are doing sub 500k so its actually crap historically but decent for the current climate.
