J Russell Peltz has literally etched his name in Philadelphia sports history. The statement figuratively rang true for the past 50 years as the Hall of Fame promoter and matchmaker helped define the Philly fight scene. Included among that run was the eight years he served as Director of Boxing for the famed-and now defunct Spectrum Arena from 1972-1980.
