Do all the “legit” belts come from Mexican organizations? I’m surprised no enterprising American has made their own belts.. like a Freedom Belt.

I forgot about them. Their belts are not so hot to the superstars of the sport. Seems only the up and coming guys need it as they try to reach the WBC belts.

People here crying that the regular wba belt doesnt count and any fight or fighter associated wt the regular belt are not champions yet if u mention that triple flop had 7 defenses under the regular wba belt to tie hopkins then they backtrack and start making excuses “hummm the real champion avoided triple flop etc etc. “ so they count the regular wba as valid fr triple flop. u hv to decide is it a real belt or not?

it's not a real belt nor has it ever been a real belt. Doesn't matter if it was ggg, Canelo or pac. When they had that pos belt, they shouldn't have been considered champions.

The problem with the IBF is that, whilst it's nice on paper that they rigorously enforce mandatories and rarely create interim titles, it's almost always someone who nobody wants to see fight for a title (Fury–Glazkov, etc.) At best, one could say they're the lesser of 4 evils.

WBO might be good for only having 1 champion but their farms of conveniently highly-ranked, average ability boxers makes a mockery of the sport too.

They make it fairly easy. The WBA world championship and WBA super championship look completely different.

Your problem is that you sometimes want to consider the WBA world title the WBA world title, while other times wanting to consider the WBA super title the WBA world title.

For better or worse, they are what they are. No reason to pretend the super title is the world title when it isn't. The industry chooses to recognize both titles. I choose to recognize neither. You're free to do as you wish, but you're never going to find a good answer if you want to flip flop as to which is which.

It used to be super champ > regular champ though, because the regular title holder was elevated to super champ after unifying or defending x amounts of time.

But the Davis Machado mess made it more complicated.
