World Boxing Organization President Paco Varcacel has once again sounded off, on the subject of the voluminous amount of belts in the sport. A few weeks back, Varcacel took aim at the World Boxing Council - over their decision to create numerous belts for bouts that have nothing to do with their organization. On September 15th, the WBC created commemorative Mayan belts for Tyson Fury's fight with Otto Wallin in Las Vegas and for Jaime Munguia's bout with Patrick Allotey in Los Angeles.

The wbo are alot less curupt then the wba my only problem with them is their rankings. The wbo has the worse rankings in boxing period! Like i question if promoters can just outright buy rankings/high rankings from them for their fighters, because the top ten in every weight class is full of unknown fighters. Granted, their are plenty of
Quality fighters that dont have huge fanbases but the top rated wbo fighters usually have only beaten journeymen & completely obscure fighters & all of a sudden their ranked #3 in the world. That really annoys, fix that first before you attempt to criticize the wba

I agree. Canelo is my fav fighter, but the fact that he's now a 3div champ because he beat fielder for the "regular" belt is absurd. There's a ton of instances where the same happens; fighters being recognized as champions for having secondary belts. 20 years from now, we'll see some fighters that became champions multiple times, and they'll be celebrated as such, but won't take into account they were "regular" champs for half of those.
