When factoring Porter's chin, stamina, and durability, if he had the power of a Thurman or Spence he would be the best welterweight, and likely best fighter in the world...But he doesn't...and the only fighter who may possess all the attributes at 147 is Spence. Thurman's not durable. Old Pacman no longer has the stamina. Crawford comes from 135 and was stanky legged by Gamboa, so he has the skills but also lacks the durability. The only fighter with all those attributes would be a prime Pacman who would likely work Spence over IF Spence fought in the fashion he fought against Porter

Wow that's funny, I was literally just thinking how people think Spence would do vs maidana from broner or mayweather 1 fights.

Spence has a dodgy inside game yeah sometimes he throws back with intent and other times he just covered up and didn't know what to do it seemed. Other times clinch but can get beat up in the clinch quite easily so. I think a tough high stamina inside fighter with pop is a style that would be all wrong for him. I didn't score the fight but porter left the more impressive impression to me. I find it hard to believe they threw the same amount of punches seemed like most of the time Shawn was throwing 2 to Spencer 1

You refer to him getting wobbled once as a lack of durability I don't think that's fair. Horn was bigger and more rugged than gamboa and couldn't put a dent in Crawford yet he bullied pacman

Spence is lucky he survived. he is very slow and throws looping shots from the hips.
He has more power than you think he wiped out Paulie Mallinagni.

He ran through Andre Berto nothing is wrong with his power he is not given credit for his technical skills not just a bum rusher as everybody thinks

I thought we were discussing power, because if Gamboa had some power he would have stopped Bud with the amount of clean shots he landed. “IF”

Gamboa does have power. He’s a puncher.

Seriously. Watching that fight i thought Spence probably wont have thrown as much as he did vs Brook(he was wailing on Brook all night applying crazy pressure), and Porter seemed to be outworking him. Come the punchstats and Spence has thrown more punches than Porter somehow(more than him in most except about 3) and over 100 more than he did vs Brook.(I know that fight ended in 11).

The entire fight was Porter doubling and tripling, sometimes quadrupling the jab while Spence was stalking behind a high guard and then Porter wailing like a madmen while Spence threw the odd punch inbetween Porter’s combos. Very surprising that Spence somehow ended up with more thrown punches.
